Irene Bizek, 97, of Romulus, passed away on November 16, 2017. Irene was born May 12, 1920 in Detroit, Michigan. She was the daughter of the late John Robakiewicz and Theresa (Bielawa) Robakiewicz.
Irene moved to a farm in Romulus with her family, after leaving the city during the Great Depression. Her love for gardening and canning blossomed there. When Irene and Edmund married, he alongside her father, built their family home on the property where they established their roots and raised their children. She enjoyed traveling and her adventures took her all over the world from Hawaii to Poland. Irene’s hobbies included sewing, knitting, crocheting, and playing pinochle. Additionally, she also always made time to serve the St. Aloysius community.
To cherish her memory she leaves one son; Eugene (Virginia) Bizek, one daughter in law; Theresa Bizek, nine grandchildren; Eddie, John, Carmen, Theresa, Ann Marie, Mary, Kathleen, Daniel and Erin, and fourteen great grandchildren.
Irene is preceded in death by her parents, her husband; Edmund Bizek, one grandchild; Eugene Bizek Jr., two children; Edmund Bizek, and Joann (Robert) Gates, four siblings; Harry, Edward, Walter and Angeline.
Friends may gather from 2:00pm to 9:00pm on, Monday, November 27, 2017, at Crane Funeral Home, 36885 Goddard Rd. Romulus, Michigan 48174, (734) 941-9200, with a rosary at 5:00pm. Prayers will take place at Crane Funeral Home on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 10:00am, then to St. Aloysius Catholic Church for mass at 11:00am, with Father John Dumas officiating. Interment will follow at Michigan Memorial Park.
